Species at Risk

Purpose

To show the mapped locations of species at risk in the Watershed.

Data source(s)

B.C. Conservation Data Centre  (CDC),  January 2005.

Explanation

The CDC’s database is dynamic; records are added or amended on a regular basis. Element occurrence reports summarize information in the database at the time of the request. They should not be interpreted as a comprehensive or definitive list of species or plant communities at risk, or used as a substitute for the on-site surveys usually required for environmental assessment.  Note that occurrences considered “sensitive”  may not be included on the map.  The data displayed here is current as of January, 2005.  For updated data, please visit: http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/cdc/.

Disclaimer

The maps included in the Chilliwack River Watershed Atlas are not intended to be legal documents and it is important that users understand their limitations.  The data has come from many different sources collected at different times and therefore there are variations in the information provided.  In addition, the spatial accuracy of both resource and cadastral information will vary.  The maps are intended as a general guide that will need to be refined and updated.   Users are encouraged to contact the originator of the data in order to obtain up to date or more detailed mapping if required.
