Mining and Aggregate Sites


Purpose

To show the location of tenures and approved mining and aggregate sites within the Chilliwack River Watershed.

Explanation

Mining has occurred in the Chilliwack River Watershed since 1899 with gold being taken out of the Red Mountain Mine south of Slesse Creek. Current mining from the watershed is primarily for sand and gravel resources. For updated tenure information, visit: http://ilmbwww.gov.bc.ca/ilrr/ILRR.htm.
