Aquifers

Purpose

To show the location of underground bodies of water (e.g. aquifers) within the Watershed.

Data source(s)

B.C. Water Resources Atlas.  October 2005.

Explanation

Since 1961, the aquifer classification database is updated 3-4 times per year as new aquifers are identify, classified, mapped. The other aquifer characterization coverages are updated as required. The aquifer information is interpreted from raw data such as well records, water quality data, air photographs, and geologic maps. New data may change the line and polygon boundaries considerably.
