November 2006 Flood Map


Purpose

To show the location of dyke breaches and the high water mark during the November 2006 flood event from Vedder Bridge to Slesse Park. .

Fraser Valley Regional District.

Explanation

On November 8, 2006, heavy rainfall caused a major flood event in the Chilliwack River Watershed that required evacuation of approximately 250 people, caused several million dollars in infrastructure damage, and resulted in significant disturbance to salmon trying to spawn in the watershed.
